Leave your scars on me,
I nod my assent and close my eyes.
I will bear them
I will walk away, and give them to God
And I will still embrace you
Even when you wound me
Because I believe in you
But my life is not yours to take.

Enveloped in love, rinsed with light
Beauty captures me
And renders me helplessly grateful
